You’ll find several ideal routes just a few kilometres from Son Penya Petit Hotel & Spa we recommend for hiking and cycle tourism. We invite you to discover the “Serra de Llevant”, a natural area between the sea and mountains on the Llevant region of the island. You’ll be able to do several excursions of varying levels of difficulty and the Majorcan Historic Railroad Nature Trail, between Manacor and Artà, is great if you wish to discover the interior region of the island or if you’re with kids.
Historic Railroad Nature Trail
The Historic Railroad Nature Trail is located between the villages of Manacor and Artà, passing through Sant Llorenç des Cardessar. It’s a place filled with contrasts which years back was a railroad that connected to the villages on the eastern edge of the island. Now fully renovated, it has been turned into a natural area of great beauty. It’s a lovely green path surrounded by a natural landscape. At 29 km long, it’s great if you wish to travel the interior region of the island of Majorca where you can still appreciate the island’s traditional agricultural fields that still abound. There are several areas all along the trail prepared for relaxing with tables and benches, gardened areas and places to park bikes. We recommend the Historic Railroad Nature Trail for hiking and cycle tourism.
